Does anyone know what the deal is with respect to >100% voter turnouts. I've been arguing with someone who seems to think that that's possible if you have same-day voter registration.

That doesn't make a damn bit of sense to me. It defeats the point of having a percentage if you don't use the final registered voter count as the comparison measure. Also, that would still mean that same-day registrations had to be large enough in magnitude to push the needle over 100%. E.g. 60% voter turnout initially, but then just as many new voters come along and their same-day registrations don't factor into the comparison so you get 120% turnout.

That also means that whenever you see 200% you would be seeing MORE than double the normal voter turnout, since normal voter turnout must be <100%.

Assuming it's true that same-day registration allows for >100% voter turnout, does this not still suggest fraud?

Most states list ELIGIBLE voters. If the number of votes is above that, there’s no legal way for that to happen. Also, not sure about other states but NC does not allow same day registration on Election Day.

Should be easy to check. Each state should be able to produce a list/count of same day registration. Immediately. There will not be that many same day registrations.

Election Summary Report for Gwinnet County, Georgia. Total Population: 936,250 Total Registered Voters: 581,467 Voter Participation: 408,268 (70.21%) Ballots Cast?

811,836.

1.36 ballots per registered voter. 1.99 ballots per participating voter.

I haven’t had this much fun with math since high school. 26.6% of Gwinnett is under the age of 18 (249,042). Number of legal adults (including those that didn’t/can’t vote) is 687,207, which would be our theoretic maximum amount of ballots, at a 100% registration/participation.

So my very final question is thus: How in the world were there not only 230,369 MORE BALLOTS than registered voters, but 124,628 MORE BALLOTS than there are adults in Gwinnett County?

BBC breaks it down. Even in countries where it is mandatory to vote they only get 90% turnouts.
