Ditto for me, exactly. I'm ashamed to say I voted for Obama first term. As you say, Bush's presidency was so bad I just wanted a Democrat. And anyway my whole family--parents/siblings/uncles/aunts/cousins--have voted straight Democrat since FDR. So had I, till Obama's second term, by which time I'd switch the TV channel the second I saw this jug-eared crook's face.
I regret to say I lost my Republican virginity (and vote) in 2012 when another RINO was running. But I know my vote for Trump is RIGHTEOUS. And the Republicans are now the party of the people. Count me Red till I'm dead. And to Blue I say Fuck You.
The democrat party needs to be destroyed. I am similar to you, and many here I'm sure, that voted for Obama his first term. It wasn't white guilt as many liberals say. I thought he'd be better than McCain and I thought he would not be as radical as many warned. Plus, my grandfather was an fdr democrat similar to your family. He was my hero and always talked about the democrats being the party of the working man and that came naturally from the new deal policies and growing up in the shadow of the great depression. However, before he passed, we talked about Obama and he was no fan. His point of contention was over abortion. I believe he would have been a big fan of Trump. We all have different paths to get to where we are but I'm on board. The democrat party is today broken to the core and beyond repair. Our country did the right thing in senate races, House races, state legislatures, and the presidential race as well. I pray the steal is stopped.
Same here. I really believe in Trump. I believe him when he says we're going to win this. Have you read "Never Give Up", Trump's memoir of his near-bankruptcy in 1991? Everything he did then he's doing now and has been doing since 2016--actually drawing energy from attacks against him (the NYT was after him even back then), keeping absolutely cool, biding his time till the time is right, and above all, being utterly fearless and POSITIVE.
P.S. People said Obama was "our first post-racial President"--what a sick joke! He was our Race-Baiter-in-Chief. We obviously still haven't recovered from the damage he did to race relations in this country. Let me simplify that: to this country.
It's funny that in the 90s, we were past most of the race baiting bullshit and the racists were mostly small percentage of anything. Now whites are villified, were are being split apart into groups based on our race and brainwashed to be against each other. This is a classic socialist tactic that became govornment ideology under Obama.
Trump is the answer to so many issues this country needs to solve. I've not read that book, but the man is pure winner, and even when he's had setbacks in areas of his life, his work ethic, outlook, attitude, and intelligence leads him to overcome and come out ahead. Kind of like what America needs to continue doing..

Well said and I 100% agree
