It makes sense when you realize that the software behind these hacks (not glitches) allows people to manage the election. They target key areas and states only so as to reduce their footprint. It just so happens that this time their deficits were much, much larger than they had expected or hoped, and therefore even their targeted meddling is quite visible.
I didn't think Pennsylvania had the Dominion machines but I only see mention that it's used in 33 states not which 33 states so i guess there is a 66% chance that it uses it in some capacity.
Hammer and Scorecard can be used in any computerized vote tabulating system where local results are transferred via the internet to a central server. They are not unique to Dominion hardware/software and could be deployed on whatever hardware Pennsylvania is using.

Glitches that only go in one direction. One time, I was processing a video and my kernel panicked, so the computer crashed and then printed and sent 20 mail-in ballots for Biden. I restarted the computer then it was back to normal.
Dude that sounds like hardware talk. Code to increment a number does not glitch. Not at this scale. Maybe if you are adding the number of atoms in the universe some memory issue could need to be accounted for. Not counting a few million votes.
As a Sr. Software Engineer, you should never write vote-counting software such that you are incrementing a counter. If I was interviewing any software engineer mid-level or higher, and they suggested incrementing a counter, I would without hesitation strongly recommend no-hire.
The "correct" way to write this software is something that looks more like a bank-transaction. Every vote is a record in the system. You find vote-totals by querying that data. Under such a system, even if you had a glitch (which is already statistically impossible) it would just corrupt data, and not produce a different result.

Unless you find the line of code and understand how that line of code produced this exact error, then you must assume every number created by this software must be treated as bogus. There's no "it just happened once" or "it's only off by a few percents." because software which flips a single vote can flip every vote.
For example, the explanation given for one of the 6000-vote-flips was supposedly a version mismatch and called it "a user-error" and something about updating the software. How did they figure out it was a version mismatch? There's no way (even smart) poll-workers would be able to accurately determine a version mismatch caused 6000 votes to flip in such a short period of time.
Even as a Senior Software Engineer; it would take me some time to become familiar with the code, before I could even start to come up with any theories about what happened. Did the software vendor tell them that? If yes, they're lying. Even if accurate, that's a giant vulnerability and why doesn't their software check versions of the data?
I would absolutely presume the software to be garbage until the bug is found (as you stated) and likely continue to presume the software was garbage after. This kind of bug shouldn't be possible.

The TV stations do receive a LIVE feed from the companies tabulating the votes, and that's what they show on the air. So yes, their vote count feed IS automatically updated by whatever system is aggregating and totaling the votes. They TV stations usually also have their own graphs (in ADDITION to the live feed) with the vote totals, but they copy the numbers from the live feed into their own graphs.
You can understand better what it is that TV stations display on their screens, by watching the guy in the video below (a cyber security expert) explain the vote switch that happened in the 2019 Kentucky governor election, when it was caught on live TV, one of the certainly many times in which votes were transferred from then-governor Bevin (R) to candidate Beshear (D). In this particular instance, 560 votes were clearly transferred from Bevin to Beshear.

What happened in the video of the switch of votes from Trump to Biden (or in other cases of votes being transferred from a candidate to another), can't possibly be an "input" error, whether by an election worker or by the TV station (even if they didn't have a live feed and all totals they displayed had to be manually copied from the election source into their graphs.
What happened there was that a specific number of votes (19.958 votes) was TAKEN from Trump's total and the same exact number of votes was literally transferred to Biden's total. This is no "input" error, as if someone had to manually add 19.958 votes for Trump but made a mistake and added them for Biden. In this case, Biden would gain votes that weren't his, but Trump wouldn't LOSE any votes, much less the same exact 19.958 votes.

The machines are connected to an underlying database. The media probably uses an API to query the voting machine total numbers every few seconds. There's no way they update them manually from all 50 states

I’d always assumed these days there is some kind of data feed from the counting entity to subscribing electronic client processes in TV studios that feed the onscreen display. But even if they get updates by phone they might log the information as it comes in.
It's a direct feed from PA.
All the machines (Dominion, etc) connect to central software (SCYTL) in the cloud that tabulates, forecasts, and reports election results. The media gets the data feed here.

Problem is that just like the media doesn't decide the winner, their footage probably can't be used as a determination of fraud.
Too easy for them to say they screwed up in the booth rather than received bogus data from an election board.
The numbers come from somewhere and via some piece of software which may log inbound data. So that’s two potential sources of hard evidence, the logs on the TV side, and the source.
Or just assume there’s no evidence and let it slide.

You fundamentally don't understand the situation. Those numbers are streamed in real time from a server not controlled by the news caster. People are freaking the fuck out because they know this. It is real time proof of election fraud being done through the compromised systems of 29 states. This will be the core of the litigation.
Whistleblowers are important, but this goes so far beyond Trump. This software is used worldwide. There may be other world leaders elected through compromised elections. The implications are fucking enormous. Reverse engineering firmware is nation state level sophistication, not rando hackers.
