I could be wrong here, but since the envelope contains the postmark and the voter's signature it would qualify as a critical security feature, and therefore without the envelope there's no way the ballot can be verified and shouldn't pass an audit.
I'd imagine if they were VERY OBVIOUSLY bad ballots, they could end up still including them. Unless of course I'm misunderstanding and they are doing MORE than just a simple recount.

Think about it, send out a batch of 3-4 you have that set as uniquely identified that only 1 vote should come out of that batch, the rest are easy identifiable as frauds.

So there was a video on here where the printer talked about each ballot has a unique identifier, but that alone wouldn't stop anything.
For example all ballots have unique identifiers, so lets say you just print a batch that would be 3000,3001,3002, 3003 you would have a data set that would tell you that out of that batch ONLY 1 vote from that batch is real, if on election day you get all of those ballots returned then you know for a fact 3 are frauds.
What about in state where they just sent out universal mail in ballots all over the place without you having to request them? One got lost in the mail but you accidentally received and extra somehow. You fill it out and sent it in. That legitimate vote would be disqualified? There's no way to prove intent by just looking at the identifiers. What about states that sent dead people mail ins and received it back? That name is on the voter role and the returned ballot would be from someone on that role. That's an illegal vote, but would appear as legit unless further investigated.
In Democrat strongholds they would send these ballots on purpose INTENDING for them to be returned. They would have no intention of busting people.
It may be HELPFUL in determining illegal votes, but certainly not the main way. I think it would be easy to miss some or wrongly claim some are illegal by using this system. However, it Republican ran states with clean voter roles, this COULD be useful. Unfortunately (well fortunately actually) in those states there would be very little fraud.
If the whole mail in thing was managed on a federal level, and with clean voter roles, THEN unique ballot identifiers would be VERY useful. The reason it wasn't handled that way is because the mail in shit was INTENDED to be used to commit fraud and cause confusion and chaos. This was the plan the whole time.

This is my concern as well.
Recount = finding math errors Audit = finding ballots cast for dead people, fake ballots, etc.
Math is not the issue here unless the hand count reveals similar software driven theft of votes from Trump to Biden.
I read the post and it says they are confident a recount will find evidence of improperly harvest ballots and other irregularities.

I could be wrong here, but since the envelope contains the postmark and the voter's signature it would qualify as a critical security feature, and therefore without the envelope there's no way the ballot can be verified and shouldn't pass an audit.

I'd imagine if they were VERY OBVIOUSLY bad ballots, they could end up still including them. Unless of course I'm misunderstanding and they are doing MORE than just a simple recount.
The recount just counts again, hopefully by hand this time, and therefore it can spot only the fraud with the counting.
To reject the illegal ballots they would have to match them to the voters. I would think a mail in ballot can be matched to the envelope, but I haven't been able to verify this

good point. It's mandated, with no further action to be taken. With all the mail in ballots, I think we expect to be able to cancel enough votes. Plus dead people votes and non-resident votes.
Also, we are in the age of tech, where we not only have the tech to go through a lot of information, but we have skilled people who know how to use the tech.

They need to remove every single ballot that was "fixed" by Obama's brownshirts that went door to door. That was utter bullshit. If you can't fill out your ballot correctly and according to the instructions, it doesn't count. And there is no "fixing" a damned thing days after the fact. Every single one of those has to go.
While I'm confident they can pull out a win, they need to make sure all illicit ballots are excluded from the count. This includes out of state and non-resident (or illegal) votes, late votes cast and collected after the election deadline. There's no room for error at this critical stage you get one chance. Trump has made small mistakes in personnel before and we can't afford missed opportunities in the final round.
Yeah...I'm wondering, though, if a recount by hand would suddenly change the results of votes that were miscounted by "glitches"...and that alone might make a big difference

I think the government printed multiple ballots on purpose to find the fraud.
Think about it, send out a batch of 3-4 you have that set as uniquely identified that only 1 vote should come out of that batch, the rest are easy identifiable as frauds.

Ok, you don't need every county to be in on it....
You only need to put them out in areas known for fraud.
How do you determine which "batch" they came from when they are all printed by their respective states and all look the same?
So there was a video on here where the printer talked about each ballot has a unique identifier, but that alone wouldn't stop anything.
For example all ballots have unique identifiers, so lets say you just print a batch that would be 3000,3001,3002, 3003 you would have a data set that would tell you that out of that batch ONLY 1 vote from that batch is real, if on election day you get all of those ballots returned then you know for a fact 3 are frauds.
What about in state where they just sent out universal mail in ballots all over the place without you having to request them? One got lost in the mail but you accidentally received and extra somehow. You fill it out and sent it in. That legitimate vote would be disqualified? There's no way to prove intent by just looking at the identifiers. What about states that sent dead people mail ins and received it back? That name is on the voter role and the returned ballot would be from someone on that role. That's an illegal vote, but would appear as legit unless further investigated.
In Democrat strongholds they would send these ballots on purpose INTENDING for them to be returned. They would have no intention of busting people.
It may be HELPFUL in determining illegal votes, but certainly not the main way. I think it would be easy to miss some or wrongly claim some are illegal by using this system. However, it Republican ran states with clean voter roles, this COULD be useful. Unfortunately (well fortunately actually) in those states there would be very little fraud.
If the whole mail in thing was managed on a federal level, and with clean voter roles, THEN unique ballot identifiers would be VERY useful. The reason it wasn't handled that way is because the mail in shit was INTENDED to be used to commit fraud and cause confusion and chaos. This was the plan the whole time.

If you have a batch of 5 votes go to one persons house and you get ALL 5 back then you 100% know that 1 is a real vote the other 4 are not.
