Georgia pede here. South Fulton county that includes the city of Atlanta is corrupt as hell. Compared to the much more progressive North Fulton (Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek), South Fulton is much poorer and has many failing schools - likely due to Democrat mismanagement.
South Fulton county has given us such characters as the previous DA Paul Howard, who prosecuted the Rayshard Brooks case (the druggie in the parking lot of Wendys).
I am not surprised they would pull a stunt like this. Proving this would be enough to prove President Trump won Georgia.
I've said before that we need national voting security standards for elections for federal office, but at this point I'd be happy if elections were even run by the states. It seems like local officials just do whatever they please and legislatures accept their results. (until now)
My GF grew up in South Fulton near the rural city of Fairburn. She and all her friends in her neighborhood, who are all decently upper middle class, were home-schooled or drove an hour to a private school that was $25k a year because the school systems are SOOOOO bad. Being that far south in the county is literally another world compared to the city, but the corruption spread so far to affect even that part its crazy.
Sorry about that. I probably should have limited my statement to the DemoncRat cesspool known as the city of Atlanta. Some of the towns south of Atlanta are most certainly based.
