Not that it shouldn't occur before being used entirely, but this information at least be used and cross-examined, the methods tested and questioned in a court scenario. Same for the Benford's law examples. I think that the judges could actually order talbulated data to be sent and calculated by multiple statisticians - but my belief is that the initial skepticism on tests that have been performed is at least a gateway to more scrutiny and investigation that needs to be done.
