Honestly, I've never really been great at math and I never really enjoyed it until I started engineering and realized it allowed me to create all kinds of things. I guess everyone is different, but being able to apply it practically was really helpful in motivating me to learn.
I purposely chose a career (when I was 11!) that required only basic math but hats off to anyone who can do it well. Math and reading music were the two banes of my life growing up so as an adult I generally avoid them if possible haha.
