I cant for the life of me understand it. Literally any first year computer programming student could write the software for adding and storing votes from a voting machine yet the keep fucking up...?

Heres another thought; let's assume the software is purposely giving Trump votes to Biden by design. How can Trump prove it in under a month?

Software engineer here, I have the same thoughts. Your guess is as good as mine. I think it's one or more of the following:

  • Diversity hires architecting and writing the software
  • Lack of testing and quality assurance
  • Intentional backdoors written into the code

Proving it:

  • Show that the same kind of "glitch" is happening under X circumstances. Not that complicated.
  • (Might take some time, but definitive) Manually reviewing the source code.

The fact that these machines can connect to the internet at all is absurd and ridiculous. It's totally unnecessary. I'm not an expert on election software but if I were to design it, at most the machines would only need to connect to a network local to the voting precinct so results can be combined and tabulated.
