So I brought this up a few days ago when I first heard about it to some of my Democrat voting friends. The consensus was:

"Democrats aren't dumb enough to vote for things they don't know anything about. There was just so much coverage about Trump that they didn't have time to research any of the downballot races, so it's better to just not vote in those races."

I don't buy it, but anyways...
