There is an entire group of people (starting with gen x) whose parents never held them accountable for anything. Parents who never said, ok that does suck, but did you do anything to perhaps contribute - or how can you fix this problem since we cannot change others.
This is the ultimate problem, these people who have never look inward and thought hmmm maybe I am the cause for a least a small amount of my problems in life. So when someone comes around and says, while your problem may suck and while people may be acting ridiculous, ultimately you can only change you so work with that, it sends them into screeching mode.
