I've always felt the opposite, actually. Like in 2012 for example, I did not vote for president because I did not want to give Romney or Obama a vote, I felt they were both terrible. Same in 2008. But every election I have voted for the local candidates, always.
Is it common that people only did this primarily for one candidate? I can see sure maybe some lazy people do this... but that should be relatively equal on both sides... not 450,000 for one candidate.
