yes, there would be no reason for Trump to fire Esper otherwise. Trump is aligning his final chess pieces here. He is either going to win reelection through the courts, or he is going to stay in the White House, prompting riots from the left which will require military force to control. And actually if Trump legit wins reelection then the left will still riot, requiring military force

I hope this is part of the plan and happy to see Esper go, but I thought Esper was expected to resign anyway. Sounds like Trump just terminated early and replaced him

idk about that - the reports are that he was fired because POTUS was pissed Esper was secretly cooperating with the Biden transition people.
