when they debuted I attempted to sign up. After inputting my info it said it send a verification code. I entered the code less than 5 seconds after they sent it. and it kept saying the code expired. There is now a phantom account that cannot be logged into. And I do't give second chances. I shouldn't have to work to use a service.
I just spent twenty minutes trying to create an account on Parler, and it is brimming with fail. It won't take my burner phone number, it keeps asking me to enter a captcha over and over and over again - screw this. If they get their collective shit together, I'll give it another go, but right now they're fucked.
I had the same problem a couple of days ago with it sending me the validation code but then ignoring it, it eventually worked properly yesterday. I suggest trying again in a few days.
Downloaded Parler today and couldn't agree more with your post. Spent ten minutes on it trying to figure out how to find my friend and look at their profile. Hopefully with time it will get better.
I think the easiest way to find friends on Parler is to make a post with a unique hashtag and then tell your friends on the previous platform to post replies there. Parler isn’t another FB. It’s another twitter. Not sure how long this movement will last.
The move to .win was slow until Reddit finally shut T_D down. It will be interesting to see if Parler will live up to the hype. It wasn’t working well yesterday.
I'd like to add that the home feed animations when scrolling make the app extremely unpleasant to use.
I have already sent feedback but this post will hopefully be monitored by the Parler devs and they will adjust accordingly.
Also, how did you devs decide that the animations on the home feed were a good idea? Like, the animation that happens when a new post enters the screen interrupts the scroll until the animation is finished and it makes it seem like the screen jumps to a new position.
In short, it's like trying to read a book while running, your eyes try to focus on the content but the movements make it impossible to do that.
Facebook and Twitter went through these phases too, the difference was they had slower organic growth ,not a giant influx all at once due to people fleeing censored platforms.

I have adjusted my notification settings on Parler, I'd recommend you relook at the settings. Notifications is an easy fix for the user

I tried FIVE times to request a password change yesterday and ever single one magically expired before I could click on it. I'm done.
