Sure, the above papers filed asked for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction which in simplified terms means they are asking the court to put a stop to what is going on until the court can sort it out. An order to show cause is asking the judge to command the election officials to appear and argue why he should not grant the application. Note that if the judge does grant it usually means he believes in the merits of the cause. Tro and preliminary injunctions have to clear a high hurdle with courts because you are asking the court to take drastic action without hearing all the facts.

Yo, brah. Them papers say they need to stop everything so the law can, like, step in and sh*t, cause the judge says the whole thing is sus. They gotta say why it's not, or he's gonna be PISSED. It's totally lit, fam.
