You're not wrong, they believe the ends justify the means so fraud is perfectly fine in their eyes.

Ahh, great minds think alike I guess. :) But it's true - they've had 4 years to plan this and do everything possible to get him out.

They have MOTIVE in the extreme, that makes it all plausible.
