I really, really hope you're right. Where you may be wrong is in underestimating how evil the Dems are.
They will argue (in fact they are already arguing) -- where is the evidence that we failed to sequester the votes that arrived after the deadline? (Which I believe was 9pm, not midnight? Anyway.)
So they require Republicans to prove that they broke the law, while they lie their little fannies off and claim all the votes (perhaps except for a little token pile just to look good) were received BEFORE the deadline.
