I think in Bush V Gore they tossed the election and let Florida's legislature pick the electors
No. Bush had the advantage of defending the win then. SCOTUS insisted the entire state had to be recounted, not just recount Broward county over and over until Gore's votes came in. Gore threw in the towel after that.
