Early in the year I couldn't figure out what they were doing. Biden was such a bad candidate and he somehow managed to pick an even less likeable runningmate. Biden basically didn't campaign at all and gaffe'd constantly whenever he did.
At first, my conclusion was that they knew their odds of winning weren't great and they didn't want to waste anyone who had a future in the party. Then we started hearing about mail-out ballots and fraud. Part of me knew they were going to go for the steal but it didn't really sink in until election night.
Now we see how poorly-concealed and poorly-executed the attempt actually was. I fear you may be right: civil war may be the actual goal not just an unfortunate externality.
Civil war may be the goal but I think much of what we're seeing is driven by the huge Trump voter turnout. I think there was just too much of it. I suspect the "glitches" were meant to cover the lion's share of the fraud, and when it became clear that they hadn't calibrated the software to cover enough of the Trump turnout, they had to revert to more traditional approaches (and when the counting stopped, I think that's when they figured out the software wasn't enough). Had the Trump turnout been lower, the paper ballot fraud might have flown largely under the radar.
If I'm right, then although Trump is saving our country, it's our turnout that saved Trump. Every one of us 100 million Trump voters (71 million my ass) ought to be proud of themselves. We done good.
