I drive to Rock Co. WI at least once a month (FBO for my pilot club and to buy New Glarus beer only sold in WI). I live right across the IL stateline in Winnebago Co., which also went to Hillary in 2016 but went to Trump this year. Why did this happen in the second largest metro area in IL? because we're a heavy industrial area with factories and jobs coming back the past few years. Our airport is buzzing with cargo activity again and our rail terminals are back in business. The I-90/39 corridor has trucks moving stuff like never before that I remember.

When I drive up to Beloit/Janesville I drive right past a dozen new factories and industrial parks built in the past few years. Most of the local unions endorsed Trump for 2020.

When Trump came and held a rally in Janesville last month, over a third of all the attendees were registered democrats. Lotta union boys & gals were at that rally.

My guess is, if this wasn't just a reporting error, that a lot of these Democrats voted Trump for president but still voted (D) down ballot for their local reps. Seeing the horror of Trump flipping the county red for the presidential race, the corrupt dem election officials just switched the numbers for biden & trump, figuring no one will notice.
