Maybe in 15-20 years, but I don't see self driving trucks taking off yet. Look at the problems Tesla is having with their partial autopilot. Maybe we should have an Adopt-A-Trucker program.

Truck drivers will never be replaced self driving vehicles still require an operator at wheel for every situation.

Command economies never work in the end. Using the iron fist of state to crush technological development just to preserve a type of job might be politically useful, but the market will eventually show it to be the wrong move.
