Obviously the idiot was never a republican or a trump supporter. The odds of someone defecting from Trump is less 5%, since Trump has a 95% favorability within the party. So highly unlikely.

In the last five or six years, there's been a major libertarian or true liberal push in the Republican party. Trump pushed it into overdrive. For the working middle class, they now have a home to voice they're concerns. Still, lots of NeoCons that need to be cleaned out, but they'll back us for the moment if we can keep momentum and find paths forward.
If they're ever was a party switch, its been relatively recently, with the corporate elite and their upper-middle class managers in certain sectors of the economy backing "moderate" Democrat Neoliberals. They've become the home for fake, swampy fucks.
Yep, Trump got the left to endorse war, big tech authoritarianism, Wall Street cash, and neocons; everything they claimed to be against they now endorse. And Trump made the Republican Party the most inclusive and transparent it has ever been. The Republican Party is the party of the working man and woman of all demographics; the Democrats are the party of the coastal elitist assholes who think that food grows in stores.
What gets me though, is I know a number of old, hippy blowhards that haven't changed with the times. They still believe Democrats stand for workers and have contracted TDS in a bad way, but are still fighting the old culture war from the 80's and 90's against the old country club Republicans and the "Religious Right". I think both those groups have largely aged out and become less prominent in todays political climate.
