This article tries to pretend that HHS operation warp speed didn't fund Pfizer's vaccine research, development, or manufacturing. That Germany actually funded it instead through one of their partner companies.
Actual facts:
HHS agrees to purchase first 100 million doses and pays 2 billion to Pfizer on July 22nd.
Germany pays 441 million to Pfizer's partner company in September, two months later. Not to mention, human trials were already underway as early as April.
So an earlier cash influx of 2 billion doesn't influence development of said vaccine...
And while the left circle jerks over Germany, the US will have access to the first 100 million doses, with rights to the next 500 million doses if desired.
