Not shilling, I'm not even going to give you guys my referral code... Brave browser is amazing. Best private browser, built in ad blocker and you get crypto just for browsing. The move away from Chrome is a very important one. Brave + DuckDuckGo default engine and you're doing your part.
Been running Brave for several months now. It's nice. :)
brave is made from chromium which is what chrome uses
It's the open source code. Brave took the googly spy parts out. I like brave
Check remove fingerprinting if you so desire
I don't use Chrome at all on any of my personal devices because I have never trusted Google. Is there a particular reason for your warning? I'm a techie so a techie answer is ok.
BTW, I have been using Firefox but after the latest shit they pulled, I've decided to switch. I just installed Brave this morning but haven't transferred over to it. I have 40 open tabs (I'm autistic and that's how I work) and it's going to take time reopening all those pages.
Google knows everything about you (obviously) but it's got a ton of features that make every day life better. Brave is built on the same foundation as Chrome (Chromium) so you can use all your favorite plugins but the built in ad blocker and not selling your browsing information is reason enough. I'm honestly afraid Google is putting me on a list for being on this website.
I use chromium on some of my Linux boxen. I'm a Linux/Unix guy, but am switching to BSD soon. I've also played with Open Indiana/ Luminos. I've only have one Windows system and that's for games. BTW, I'm 60 and have been programming since I was 15. That Windows gaming box is the only Windows system I have ever had.
I need to do something with the Android on my Samsung tablet. I have to watch every update like a hawk. Setting get changed and every app tries to force you into putting everything on some cloud.
While we're on the topic of web browsers, check out bitwarden as a password manager. I have that with brave
