Nope. Programmers put them there after failing to design properly or enter the code properly, and fail to find them when they fail to test properly. Or, they are deliberately put there.

We've been seeing forensic mathematics / accounting used on election results.

Now I want source code subpoena'd, and I want some real computer whizzes to analyze the code used on these voting machines.
