Seems only the Fudds still support the NRA. They are a solution looking for a problem.

I just wish gun clubs would stop requiring NRA memberships.

I am blessed to have my own range. Even traveling around the country competing, I’ve never had to show an NRA card at a range.

Gun Owners of America FTW.

Sanctii 19 points ago +20 / -1

Yup. I see so many gun owners proudly talk about their lifetime NRA membership. Fuck that shit, the NRA are traitors and dont care about your gun rights.

I cannot stand that I fell for that trap, years ago. :/

Everyone needs to join GOA.

I dropped the NRA for GOA thanks to the advice of someone on this site.

The NRA has been converged too?? Liberals are like Hydra!

TrumpTrain425 6 points ago +6 / -0

NRA has never been on the 2nd amendments sides.

they're spineless opportunistic grifters.

1
NoStumpyTrumpy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Originally they absolutely were pro-2A, that's thenwhole reason they were founded. They cucked out at some point (I dont claim to know when) and now exist to receive donations/membership, kind of like the Koman foundation.

TrumpTrain425 1 point ago +1 / -0

Its the same with all activist groups, what do you do when you won? Most create their own boogeymen to fight

6
letrain 6 points ago +6 / -0

Goa! NRA is hemorrhaging money bacause they don't fight enough. Largest org didn't head to defend Kyle, or mccloskey's.

Someone has to pay for Wayne’s silk underwear expenses!

The NRA is controlled opposition, and a waste of money.

The NRA-ILA is actually very solid and does serious work in the courts, but it's basically a completely different organization seperate from NRA.

GOA seem pretty good so far.

undercovermaga 1 point ago +1 / -0

So do they take money from the same pot?

1
RolandDelacroix 1 point ago +1 / -0

As I understand, seperate

The NRA are directly responsible for some of the greatest restrictions of our 2A rights in history. Most people think they have been fighting to resist unconstitutional gun laws, when in fact, they have directly created some of the worst offenses.

1
Truglow 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sad but they have become just like most of Congress. Big bloated and two faced.

1
WhoElse 1 point ago +1 / -0

I did not know this, thanks for the info.

1
V_exodus 1 point ago +1 / -0

Really did not understand at all. So GOA, better. And what do y'all think of the growing group, with chapters, "The Well-Armed Woman"? My local range, actively encourages membership in it and supportive

NRA keeps doing nothing lately. They virtue signal to us but take little action.

1
Brop0calypse 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fuck the NRA. They have lost complete sight of what they once stood for.

Oh for fucks sake, stop simping for the fucking GOA. They are useless cunts. The NRA isn't perfect but the GOA is worse. I've been a life member of both for a long time and I've been in the gun rights game since before most of you were born. I know the fucking score.

The GOA does nothing but whine about the NRA not being hardcore enough and ask for money. They were doing this 30 years ago and they still do it today. Not one fucking lawsuit, not one pro-gun bill passed, not one anti-gun bill defeated, culture not advanced, etc.

The NRA:

  • has a massive sports and training organization that keeps the culture alive
  • a massive lobbying arm that effectively lobbies. Every time in the past 40 years where there has been big gun control pushes, the NRA either defeats it or they weaken it to irrelevance.
  • state level organizations that actually do stuff. The NRA is why we have concealed carry literally everywhere. They lobbied for it state by state over 30+ years.

The NRA moves the ball. The GOA does not.

Or you could do what I do and pretty much ignore the NRA right now. I think they are hopelessly corrupt and incompetent at this point and our efforts to fix the leadership a few years ago failed. Maybe that will change once LaPierre dies or something but right now I don't see a productive path forward.

That being said, the solution to the NRA is not to throw money at GOA. I think the two paths likely to succeed are a 73 style reform of the NRA or to make a new org that isn't useless and self serving.

Oh yeah, don't give money to the NRA right now, it would be wasted. Directly pick and support candidates if you're going to give.

Use sub sonic ammo. Preferably a .22. You want to be close range as well. Don't miss. Make sure you test your gun first to make sure it functions without misfires with sub sonic ammo. Also, wet your suppressor first. Sometimes the first shot can be louder. This will be stupidly quite by the way. You're welcome.

ColludingWithAmerica 1 point ago +1 / -0

That’s 22lr. There are some loads that don’t even require a suppressor. Any center fire is going to be at best 120db with a can
