Chicago is the worst city in America in my opinion. I worked with a lady whose daughters and niece were always taking carloads of guys up to shitcago to get illegal id's. They each had illegal boyfriends and they all have many kids by them. I worked with Mexicans out west, and they were all nice and hard workers. BUT, if you come here you need to be legal, and not hop over the border and have a kid that you are already pregnant with. Illegals, street people , (not just homeless) but lazy people who live off the government, and prisoners should not be able to vote.

Voter id is only partly a fix.
There also needs to be at least a bi yearly, if not yearly, complete voter registration reset. So only active living voters will be on it.
Judicial Watch has been trying to get support to clean up the voter roles for a long time. Republicans are lazy. As soon as the democrats start squawking, they back off.

It's a mental gordian knot. We must have meaningful prison terms for election fraud and enforce them. As well as auditing every election and allowing each voter to confirm their vote against records.

The voter roll fix would be quick, easy, and effective. The problem is one side benefits from not doing it, so it will never happen.
There was no fear because the consent decree was in place from 1982-2018 so the RNC was neutered.
There is no easy fix. I was thinking even a year ago about how to create a voting system that is not dependent on the trust of the people who operate it, and can not be tampered with.
It is a major challenge. Mere voter IDs are not sufficient, although maybe a basic necessity.
We facilitated a fair election in Afghanistan of all places, we can do it here. In person only, photo ID, check the registration roll, ink the finger, and count every vote in front of God and everybody.

Use ID and/or other forms to verify voting eligibility. Get handed a cheap one use chip/electronic device.
Set up two lines with a doorway scanner to walk through. One for Dems and one for Repubs. Walk through the door with your device. It automatically scans your device. Counter display is up top that updates in real time as people walk through. Come through the other side and get handed a beer and a MAGA hat and get ready to party. The other side gets womp womps and tissues.

I don't trust them to use blockchain is what I'm saying. Call me paranoid but I believe they would claim to use it, and then just manually enter whatever result they wanted. You sound well informed enough to spot it, but most folks wouldn't. My only point is for blockchain to work it needs to have some method for us to verify that it's in place. Then absolutely it would be awesome. I honestly wouldn't put it past the powers that be to have us voting on a speak and spell and just completely lie about it.

I live in Wisconsin. All I had to do was supply my drivers license number online when requesting a ballot. I did this for the primary. I got a presidential ballot in the mail, even though I did not request one, without showing ID or providing my number. My wife also received a mail in ballot. She did not request one or show any kind of ID.
Vote in person in WI and we're very good at checking ID.

Wisconsin law allows voters to self-certify if they are “indefinitely confined”. A person who applied for an absentee ballot for the Wisconsin Primary did not need to show the required id if he/she claimed they were “indefinitely confined".
Once you got the absentee ballot for the relatively unimportant primary you were in like Flinn - because they automatically sent you a ballot for the General Election. No questions asked.
Every person in Wisconsin needs to check the voter registration list to see if someone has violated the grave of their dead relative(s) and is using them to thwart the will of the living.
As a matter of fact Wisconsin should make the State wide Voter Registration w/ voting history list available on-line, for free and completely searchable.
Why when we pay State employees to compile those list do they make us pay for them again - it is election accountability suppression.
