Around April when the US Census was being totaled, I got hounded by the US Census workers on a non-stop basis asking for the hospitals’ census data from census day.
I told them to pound dirt but my understanding is that other hospitals in the state have them everything they needed. We have a duty to patients privacy first and foremost, but I could see how department heads could be swayed with what the US Census workers were telling them.
I imagine it would be the same deal here. Unless you are a head fast lawyer that puts HIPAA ahead of anything else, it could be easy to fall into that trap.
Health lawyers pede here.
