This is interesting. I've seen this being posted around here. I'm curious if authorized and ordered are being used interchangeably by the source of this news or Barr himself. I'm doubtful federal prosecutors have to get Barr's permission to investigate every single crime or suspected crime in their districts. That's not practical. There's enough evidence is various jurisdictions for prosecutors to start their own investigations. If Barr indeeds means authorized, that doesn't mean these federal prosecutors will do it. I will say I don't know if there are certain laws around elections specifically.
