He probably played a part in developing one the protocols... believe it or not E-mail is a ridiculously simple stack that has been dying for a Standardization Overhaul for decades but too many companies make way too much money bulk spamming bullshit to people who never bother looking at it.

To add on... Facebook/MySpace/Twitter/ etc etc etc where all start ups that were going to end Email and usher in a new age of communication... until they found out how much money they could make spamming useless bullshit to people who never bother to look at it.
