The problem we have in that scenario is twofold. First, most of us still view the police as our friends and don't believe our local police are capable of committing the same atrocities that the nazis and soviets did, and the CCP does to this day. Second, we are taught to never ever use violence against the police (that's something the left does, and we're above that), but to instead "take it to court." For most republicans, the thought of using deadly force to stop bad guys in positions of power is something we wouldn't even consider. Why do you think those republican poll watchers that got kicked out of polling stations that they had every right to be in didn't even try to resist or force their way in? It's because violence is not even an option in their minds in that scenario. Violence is considered a legitimate method for enacting change by the left; the right barely considers it an illegitimate method, if they even think of it at all.
Edit: you've mentioned that unlike other people's, we still have our guns. However, do you think it's possible that we could have been disarmed spiritually, whereas the rest of them have been disarmed physically, to create essentially the same effect?
To the poll watcher comment. It goes back to the paying class has more to loose than everyone else.
