As a non-lawyer, I don't see why... The sworn testimony getting recanted is not a reason not to investigate. I believe his testimony would never be sufficient for a court finding, and was only something used to get in the investigation. And OTOH, if you have investigators say it is a "storm" and "senators are involved" -- alongside the vaguely threatening gibberish -- only really adds to a justification for audit and further investigations. It doesn't make sense for the agents to act that way unless there was something to hide.

Once they have and release this new signed 'recant' that was compelled against his will from the witness, coerced in a 4 hour interrogation with no representation, the media already has what they wanted. They will scream it from rooftops as loud as they can, screaming "HE RECANTED. THE ALLEGATIONS ARE DEBUNKED". They never have to reference any of the other whistleblowers, and can just ignore James when the truth comes out of what was done to this man, because at the bare minimum, yes, he signed a paper that alleges he recants every allegation.
They already have what they wanted and can scream out as much as they want that the witness recanted, regardless of the context of the situation. It's the same like with the shootings, when someone who happens to be black attempts to attack an officer or reach for a weapon like Jacob Blake did and the officer shoots them in defense, the media can scream "UNARMED BLACK MAN SHOT BY POLICE", because they don't need to care about the actual context. So long as what they say has enough information to not technically be utter libel, they can scream it as much as they want.

yes him officially recanting is not good. he should have stood by what he said and still have the recording... officially recanting is bad, they can use it against him in court and everywhere else.
According to James, the whistleblower was being interrogated for hours on end and wasn't allowed to leave until he signed some paperwork, which it appears then that the documents were an affidavit claiming to recant his statements.
He wasn't given any legal representation, and compelled to endure that, and given just already what's on the video, the agents admitted they intended to scare him (While also saying they weren't in a very weird conflicting way)
well as a witness he is not required to get representation, since he was not charged with anything. idk. to me the more likely scenario is that he got scared of getting jailed, and he honestly believed that he signs that he lied because fbi gave him an out, and then tried to save face on youtube and in front of veritas by lying that "i didn't recant" knowing full well he can lie all he wants without consequence on youtube but not to fbi.
maybe he didn't make up all, maybe they just gaslighted him, but still this is bad. every fake/debunked story like this gives less value to real election fraud evidence. we needed him under oath to testify not to get youtube famous with conspiracy theories.

I'd say that it pretty much does, it's fucked up. Dunno why people are so giddy about it, whatever the recording is. Even if they questioned him aggressively and made him aware of the consequences of lying (prosecution), that's still not pressuring him. Unless there are outright threats of extrajudicial punishment, nobody will care. We now have a witness who tells everybody different stories. Recanting the recanting does not make him credible again. But I reserve final judgment until we know more - as everybody should.
Unless they were saying stuff like
"Be careful, people might go after you to silence you if you go through with this. It's gonna ruin your life, you'll be in court, etc... are you absolutely sure you don't want to recant? This might be your last chance. What about your family?"

As a non-lawyer, I don't see why... The sworn testimony getting recanted is not a reason not to investigate. I believe his testimony would never be sufficient for a court finding, and was only something used to get in the investigation. And OTOH, if you have investigators say it is a "storm" and "senators are involved" -- alongside the vaguely threatening gibberish -- only really adds to a justification for audit and further investigations. It doesn't make sense for the agents to act that way unless there was something to hide.
Not a lawyer, but he/she recanted under duress so it's probably not admissible in court. Also, there's evidence of fraud and the interrogation was wiretapping.

I would relax just a little bit. I've seen that too but as a software engineer who builds scalable distributed applications I can assure you there are many ways of building a top 1000 website. The traffic here is insane and no small challenge.
One of the techniques is called data denormalization. In layman's terms it means that the same "data" (for example comment-count) is represented in multiple ways. It may be possible that total count (represented by 4 bytes) is separate from the list of comments (represented by an ever growing number of kilobytes).
It could also be that the Add-New-Comment-Action is processed by multiple things. One thing simply increments the total count while an entirely separate action processor actually adds it to the database. During peak usage times or DDOS attacks a delay could occur.
In short, this ain't reddit, we're gonna be okay.
