After I heard about #maidengate, I went to check to my old address.

My first and second ship was homeport in CA (Frisco area for 2 yrs, and San Diego for 2 more) ... SO, I go into Alameda county voter registration rolls to check if I'm on there. You only need your birthday and last 4 SSN to check, to my surprise (and frustration/anger) I found an active voter file, but with a DIFFERENT NAME. This person became active on voter rolls there in 2011 ... is a "Permanent vote by mail" and DID vote this year (ballot requested 10/05/20, received on 10/18/20 and was ACCEPTED.) I left CA in 1997, so WTF

What are the odds that someone there has the same birthday and last 4 SSN as me??

How many other vets have gone through the system there, and after some time end up with a different name AND on the voter rolls ??? I mean seriously, who is going to go back to their old duty station address and even check to see if they are registered to vote there?!?!?!? I checked the address as well, its an apartment ... how many more vets "live" at this (or similar) apartment???
