I want to help by saving videos before they are taken down, but I am tech challenged and on top of that, have linux. I tried using youtube dl but got a message that it wouldn't work. Someone said I'd need python, tried to download that, but there was so much stuff I didn't understand. It's not like a regular download. If you know how to help me, please do. Can dm me if you prefer. Thanks.

If any of you come back I wanted to let you know I appreciate all your help. Unhappily, none of the things worked. However, did as Throwaway234567 suggested and did a search for a way to manually download. I found a super easy way! Just got to the youtube video you want to download and put 45 (coinkydink, eh?) after the word youtube and before the .com - then hit enter. It takes you to a site where you can download it and it plays immediately! I'm just thankful I can do this now. So again, thanks to all my patient pedes. Maga on.
