Part of it is they have conditioned us to expect certain results from certain states/cities. Virginia has been blue for several cycles, the polls show it. So when they call it, no matter when they call it, the vast majority accept it.
I’ve not personally heard of anyone with the same issue but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more. Trump had a clear victory on election night.
