Honsetly I was never a fan of the media in general and despised celebrity worship and hates politics of any type (partly why I liked r/td cause it was more silly but the small truth bombs were big to me). I never watch tv, I never/don’t have any socials I was a normal dude who worked his whole life and in spare time hanging with life long friends and eventually having my own family. I used Reddit for hobby type stuff since like 2010/11 —then came the 2016 election and found my way into the Donald and loved all the memes and salt. But it was probably that sub that really made me a skeptic of everything.
Before that sub, I looked into typical conspiracies about jfk.9/11.other tyrrinacal stuff our gov does in other nations but I really got interested in project mockingbird and the nsa/spying.
From there—typical stuff about/examples of censorship but really it was the likes of project mockingbird, the fisa spying, which just ensures my weariness of big gov.
Overall I think trump winning and the polls and the spoon fed narratives really solidified the fact that there is a group of non elected people who make decisions for us based on their own rulings.
But since finding r/td my knowledge about shady shit has grown ten fold and I will never not question anything any more. -including things in this and the previous TD. If I had to say 1 thing that “woke” me. I would prob say digging into project mockingbird and the biased media. Because from there, and their reach, it’s truly a mind control tool
Mostly now- I do it for my own truths like I used to but also for my family. I don’t want to be responsible for leading them into lies and spins because I chose to just follow along with the other sheep and now we’re all fenced in.
Me being “woke” isn’t like I was spouting off BS in the past like you see with people all the time. I simply just never cared about any of it.
