Thanks for your service! I like time dating Marines by certain things. Marines after the 90's are more OO-Rah, previous are more Semper Fi. Marines pre 2010 pronounce the east coast base as "lee june" versus the new "le jern." I'm a le-june, OORah Marine, but that's beside the point.

They don't say OO RAH anymore? WTF.

When I was in (2005-2011), Lejeune was more like lah-joon. The J had a a bit of a z sound to it like Je'mapelle.

I live right by jax and everyone says le-june. Interesting to hear there's a different pronunciation. Thank you both for your service & God bless America
