People that had an actual interest in subjects used to get degrees. Now every job needs a degree. It's a travesty to Universities to have degrees be watered down, and a travesty to students considering the amount of dough they have to fork out just to get a job.
And in the end degrees aren't a marker of competence because of this shit. I had to get a degree, but I only got one after a lot of my peers/coworkers did, and even before that I outperformed them.
