You'd be surprised at how low the costs can go with a well-coded caching layer and well-engineered horizontal scaling structure that uses cheap digitalocean VMs instead of expensive cloud solutions.
Frankly, I'd go for the expensive option as time is worth more than money, but then again expensive cloud solutions are literally all owned by globalists who can do dirty tricks, plus, u/doggos has evidently poured his soul into this website so who knows.
DigitalOcean is fantastic. The only thing I'd question is being able to set up an efficient caching solution when this site runs in near-real time. Maybe an API to cache already-submitted replies to reduce the bandwidth on new ones?
