Only the State Legislature can vote to allow that and they have already said no. The Governor, SOS, or State Supreme Court dont have any legal authority to make those decisions regarding elections.

Ok thank you ..so inntha same theme here- PA also voted to allow mail in ballots for an additional 3 days after election day. Does that stand or is that also illegal? So much shit to chop through

That's the thing, PA didn't vote for it. The PA supreme court took it upon themselves to allow the late ballots. According to the PA constitution only the state legislators can make that decision. The GOP appealed to the US Supreme Court but they declined.

From my understanding they appealed for it to be expedited and it was declined because ACB didnt have enough time. The actual supreme court ruling was never declined, just its expedition. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Ok so basically even though they made this decision....they don’t have the authority to do that

That is one of the questions in the lawsuit. It will likely have to go to the Supreme Court, where they will rule against the late voting since that was something the Governor did illegally.

but but but someone on reddit said that the courts are the arbiter of what the constitution means.

How the fuck is there no federal rules and there are 50 different sets of rules for elections? It's so stupid.

I typically like the limited powers granted to the Federal Government through the Constitution, but i completely agree that this one needs a change. Federal law should make standards for a Federal election. In person. On election day. Voter ID. Count votes by hand with witnesses.
