my parents have always been republican, but the media got to them and my Dad told me they could not in good faith vote Trump, so they voted Biden but then voted straight Republican downballot.
Those types of Voters exist, but not nearly in the numbers necessary to explain the divergence in the data. Especially when the primary results and polling indicate that Trump is wildly and uniformly popular amongst the GOP.
Polling puts his support at 96+%, and primary turnout is in the same model as Reagan in '84.
