It's incredibly hard to exclude china from the entire supply chain of manufacturing hardware - to the point where even in the military this is an issue. This is why Trump's right about the need to manufacture in the US.
People that say they can audit electronics are delusional. You going to audit a chip under an electron microscope? How do you know every chip in the batch of the same?
If you buy chips in China you could be compromised without knowing it.
