Back in the late 00's and early 10's, 4chan mostly had a reputation for being a lawless cesspool of child porn, necrophilia photos, and doxing/harassing kids on their social media.
Of course, in hindsight I have no idea how accurate that actually was. That's just the narrative that was passed around + the stories I heard from a few who claimed to have investigated the board.
I've been checking in on them for a long time and I won't deny they have their fair share of degenerates that take advantage of the extreme freedom, but I have never seen anything like kiddie porn or necrophilia. Not saying it didn't end up there before but they still have to comply with laws. Someone could just as easily show up here and post some nasty stuff before the mods catch up to it. The main thing is there is no political correctness.

It's raunchy over there pornwise, and there are leftists, rightwings, Hitler fans, avowed communists, every sexual deviant, n-word is allowed, etc. The level of conversation is pretty low brow. But every once in awhile people take advantage of the haven of anonymity and free speech when there is no where else to go. They were pretty good about analyzing the vegas shooting and also caught the antifa bike lock attacker.

The board glows at times but some insiders pop in and drop nugs of info and it ends up true. The rest is larpers, shit posters and meme flag shills.
