You know this already, but it sometimes helps to hear it again, your son is in good hands and when you see him again you are going to be amazed at how much pride you will feel seeing his accomplishments after basic training. The hardest thing is not being able to reach out and see how he is doing. We were told we have 5 weeks before we get an address to write to. I figure I will just start writing a long ass letter to him.
I remember that when my brother went off to basic training. It is a challenge, but it will go quickly. Unfortunately, it seems you won't be hearing anything from him until after Thanksgiving, so that might be a bit rough without him celebrating with you.
Start writing that letter! He will appreciate it when he is finally able to get some mail. :)
