Bret isn't based, he tries to be anti Trump even on topics where Trump has a lot of merit like on foreign policy and trade. His town halls and interviews with Trump are also filled with backhanded questions with the intent of bringing him down.
He's doesn't overdo it like Chris Wallace but you can see the bias from time to time
