I like Italy. Is it pretty based overall or pretty European?

It is becoming more based lately. We have less welfare than the US too rn. We have both a public and private healthcare option for everything, with multiple options in each town, which forces our private sector to actually charge reasonable prices for health services, we also do not have food stamps and have far less unemployment help, otoh , church charities help the poorest citizens a lot.

Sad thing is that current lefty gov is taking in a lot of migrants that only end up either doing crime, being exploited for super cheap labour or being exploited for European Union gibs by "good samaritans" who host them.

Regardless, Lega is still the strongest party, so prob. Next elections they're going to get into government again.

Tuscany was pretty cucked until recently, CA levels of Left wing governance, last elections we managed to have them lose their absolute majority in local gov, so they're gonna come to a compromise with the right to govern properly, which is a great start, they went from having 70%ish of votes and seats in local parliament to only 49%

Sounds like a good start. If everything goes worst-case-scenario here in the U.S., is Italy a good place to move to? =P

Well, I wanna move to the US because here people with my expertise and degree in Chemistry are payed like crap, my cousin is a gardener and made more than I did during my last job as a chemist :S. But if you do not have money problems Tuscany is very nice to live in, especially Pistoia or Lucca, Florence is a bit more cucked.
