This is a good point. The guy I asked about it knew about the theory from the internet. So if it's true then it's being kept hushed by the legal team. The legal guys were WAY more optimistic than the rank and file guys, in fact I would say very confident.
It doesn't even have to be a secret. People are generally just uninformed about most things outside of their own purview. Any ballot security is a government law enforcement issue, not campaign workers.
It should be underlined that while some people told me what jobs they do or who they work for, I wasn't going around asking those questions if the answers weren't volunteered.
