On what grounds could the house nullify the results of the election (and then subsequently cast their own votes)?

To invalidate a particular states Electoral College votes would require a majority in BOTH houses, for each state that they want to invalidate. Now they'd only need to invalidate enough that no candidate gets 270, but that's not likely with how the house is currently made up.

Thanks. I knew they could vote if nobody has 270, but did not know if they could "toss" a bad state. Would that be a 50-Vote (one per state) or a full 435?
