I'm in the habit of using the upvote to track when I've seen a post or not. I only go out of my way to NOT upvote something if the title is something pernicious or ignorant like "Fuck everyone who lives in California"

I'd like to think I can rely on the deport function and the mods to help remove posts like the one you're talking about. But I would also expect them to remove divisive posts like the one I mention, so who knows.
