The only reason the Nazi's are labelled as far right is because mostly left wing academics want to distance themselves as far as posssible from it. Hitler crossed many of the boxes of the modern left e.g. class warfare, a united struggle against the expoitative capitalists, the nationalizing of nearly every aspect of life, strict gun control and the encouragement of abortion. They were just as far left if not even more so than the communists.

Left and right in America are practically meaningless in Europe and have been for a century or more. They have monarchies and always beg, plead, vote, fight, and kill for socialism and communism.
