I've always wondered if these letters were meant for specific regions of the church in the final days.

Philadelphia referring to America of course, considering the Constitution was drafted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Church of Thyateira still nominally exists as the Eastern Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and is based in London and has sway over the UK.
